Pharmaceutics

Pharmaceutics is the one of the major discipline in pharmacy that deals with all facts of the process of turning a new chemical entity into a medication able to safely and effectively use by patients. The department of pharmaceutics regarded as an important one in teaching and research of drug formulations, drug delivery and biopharmaceutical assessment. It included the design, preparation, formulations and assessing of drug release studies of sustained release, controlled release, targeted drug delivery system. The department of pharmaceutics was established in the year of 2002 and it was approved for Ph.D research center in the year of 2007. The pharmaceutics department offers both PG programme and doctor of philosophy in Pharmacy, in a highly specialized course tract under the graduate and postgraduate programme in pharmaceutical science. The UG programme (B.Pharm) and Pharm.D integrated course trains the students in the field of pharmaceutical technology, Physical pharmaceutics, Pharmaceutical dosage form, Novel drug delivery system and Bio-pharmaceutics and Pharmacokinetics.

The department has having necessary infrastructural facility with well experienced teaching and technical faculties. The department engaged teaching and research of different subjects like physical pharmaceutics, pharmaceutical technology, pharmaceutical dosage form, industrial pharmacy (Sustained release, Controlled release, Targeted drug delivery system), advances in drug delivery system, bio-pharmaceutics (mechanism and modeling drug transport, molecular and cellular pharmaceutics), pharmacokinetics rate process, Absorption, Distribution, Metabolism and Excretion (ADME kinetics). We have tie up with leading pharmaceutical drug manufacturing industries and R&D center as well as Ayurvedic Pharma industries sector from that we are providing skill development with practical experiences to the students with placement of job in industries side. The department is scientifically collaborated with major pharmaceutical companies in the development of various drug delivery system, optimization and validation of dosage forms.
